By calling the hotline, any household – regardless of residence – can make an appointment to get a 10-day supply of food based on household size. The only requirement is a photo ID.
Ongoing resident client service is available to residents of the Town of New Scotland or Voorheesville School District.
Two forms of ID are required: one photo ID and one showing recent residence (ex: driver’s license and recent utility bill).

Once you call, you are brought through a process to get you started, and you will receive a 10-day supply of food.
Then, a caregiver volunteer will be assigned to your household. They will:
The New Scotland Community Food Pantry provides stipends directly to utility and fuel providers on behalf of our client households. To qualify for this December program the client must privately apply with their caregiver and have used the food pantry at least twice in a calendar year.
Each year the New Scotland Community Food Pantry coordinates the donations of fixings for Thanksgiving meals to qualifying client families. To qualify for this November program the client must privately apply with their caregiver and have used the food pantry at least twice in a calendar year.
Each year the New Scotland Community Food Pantry coordinates the donations of fixings for holiday meals to qualifying client families. To qualify for this December program the client must privately apply with their caregiver and have used the food pantry at least twice in a calendar year.
Each year there are generous sponsors that provide children’s holiday gifts. The gifts are distributed by caregivers in private to qualifying client families with children under 17 that have used the food pantry at least twice a year. Gift items are limited to basic necessities such as clothing and include non-electronic toys or gift cards. Children must reside in the household within our service area.
The New Scotland Community Food Pantry provides once yearly school supply stipends for the upcoming academic year to qualifying families. To qualify for this fall program the client must privately apply with their caregiver and have used the food pantry at least twice in a calendar year. Children must reside in the household within our service area.
